Crochet teddy

I've been learning crochet for about a year now. I've been doing granny square blankets and net bag thingies. I've tried to do amigurumi bears, but the tension needed to make 3D teddies in that style is too tight for my hands. But a few weeks ago I modified a simple knitting pattern into crochet and attempted a bear. It's not perfect, and in fact it's a little coarse, but I loves him. He's very cute and quite purple which is lovely.

I still haven't figured out how to crochet my old jointed teddy bears, but it was lovely to make another bear and sew that lovely grinny face. I've kept him for myself until I find someone who might benefit from having a little purple teddy.
